C1 Bank To Open First South Florida Branch in Wynwood

C1 Bank Opens in Wynwood

C1 Bank has acquired Miami property for $2.85 million in what could be the location of its first South Florida branch.

The St. Petersburg-based bank currently has a lending office in Miami, although not an official depository branch. It sought to acquire Doral-based U.S. Century Bank in 2012, but that deal fell through. It tried to assume the lease on U.S. Century Bank’s Brickell Ave. branch, however that didn’t happen either.

In January, C1 Bank CEO Trevor Burgess said he’d like to have up to five branches in Miami-Dade and he was actively looking for real estate there.

In May, C1 Bank bought the 13,126-square-foot site at 2618 and 2632 North Miami Ave. from TMC Holdings, which is managed by Henrique Chor. The site has 9,306 square feet of industrial/retail space. It’s in the Wynwood neighborhood and on the corner of Northwest 26th Street.
