Miami, FL (October 2013) – Ricart Gallery celebrates Art Basel 2013 and the official grand opening of their new space in Wynwood with a solo exhibition by renowned artist Carlito Dalceggio on Friday, December 6th from 6-10pm.

The opening exhibition “To Set Fire In The Heart Of The World” will be a multimedia fairground featuring new artworks by Dalceggio including sculptures, paintings, drawings, collage, film and more.

“This exhibit is a freedom ceremony, a scream for universal peace and the liberation of the free spirits from the limits of the modern world,” according to Dalceggio.

His works have been showcased in Paris, Mexico, Montreal, Shanghai, Bali, New York and most recently at the Borusan Music Evi Foundation in Istanbul. In 2012 the Royal Canadian Mint commissioned Dalceggio to create a limited edition silver coin for their first ever artist collaboration.  Dalceggio is most recognized by the Miami art community for his last exhibit at Ricart Gallery during Art Basel 2011, “Death of Lies” that showcased iconic Pinocchio sculptures with a the tree of life growing from his famous nose with the largest sculpture now showcased permanently on the roof of the new space making it the gallery’s landmark. In 2015, Dalceggio will have a solo museum exhibition at the MUBE Museum in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Originally from Canada, Dalceggio is a citizen of the world taking his studio from city to city, drawing inspiration from his shamanic experiences and his chaotic bohemian explorations. His artistic stimulation extended to global travel in a quest to nourish his creativity from the art traditions of other cultures. Throughout his career, he has partnered with artists from around the world, establishing and participating in art collectives and working in virtually every medium, from fine arts, fashion and circus arts to photography, literature and film.

The artist will be present during the opening reception on Friday, December 6th from 6-10pm. For more information or to schedule an interview with Carlito Dalceggio please contact tamara@namastesocialclub.com.
